Liars & Thieves is not an L.A. song. Nor is it a song about screaming out of limousine windows, fucking in parked cars on Mulholland or Yves Saint Laurent. It has nothing to do with illicit drug use, although they say the cocaine here isn’t merely stepped on, it’s trampled over. No. It’s unlikely to be heard through the Roosevelt’s walls while standing, smoking on Hollywood near DEEP. Or spun in sequence with anything Nic Harcourt would have recommended.
Liars & Thieves is L.A. noir, an anthem.
